Ross Barber is the Executive Director of Access Arts and has experience in Australia and Internationally as a resident artist and in the development and management of Arts and Inclusive Community Cultural Development practice, projects and programs. He has developed and delivered new sculpture programs at CSIT Tafe and taught in the undergraduate and postgraduate visual arts programs at QUT Creative Industries.
Ross initiated and developed the highly successful tapinonthepipes.com, a program that brought multi-arts performance practice and web technology to six regional communities and developed Onsite, an innovative professional development program for young talented regional artists experiencing disabilities.
Ross is a current Arts Queensland Industry expert. He has served as a member of the Arts Minister’s cultural advisory council, as a regional peer and chairman for Arts Queensland major funding rounds, and as a member of the Maroochy Council Regional Arts Development Fund committee. Ross' individual arts practice is in site-specific installation utilising a range of technologies.
Ross has a Bachelor of Arts (Visual Arts) degree, UWS Nepean and a Master of Fine Arts Degree, QUT. In 2001 Ross was awarded a Centenary of Federation Medal for Distinguished Service to the Arts.
