Glen Henderson is a contemporary artist who enjoys working in collaboration with architects, scientists and technology professionals. Her current involvement in contemporary arts practice is as curator, visual artist, designer.
‘I am interested in spatial relationships for the insights they provide. The means I have used – painting, sculpture, installation, video, computers – have enabled me to engage with ideas through experimenting with a number of materials and processes. This has allowed me to think about things in new ways’.
Her recent work based on nerve cell data, was researched with the support of the Queensland Brain Institute. Exhibitions held this year in Brisbane Sydney and Melbourne are currently reviewed in Art + Australia, InDesign and the December edition of Monument. Her earlier Architecture of a bug project and Mini-museum evolved out of issues influencing new thinking in architectural design. She is currently the curator of the Inner Northern Busway Project.
Glen Henderson completed her master’s degree in 1996. She has exhibited continually in contemporary art spaces, museums and commercial galleries while working as a curator on projects and lecturing in painting, sculpture and professional arts practice. In 2005 she produced a monograph of ten years of art practice
