Architect Julie Bonfield's love of landscape, people and buildings began at an early age and she's grateful to have found a profession that allows her to make sense of the world while exploring new possibilities. Born in the UK to an Australian Father and English Mother, Julie's move from verdant Surrey to tropical Brisbane at the age of 15 gave her a keen appreciation of the impact that design and environment have on people's sense of place and belonging.

Julie studied architecture at the University of Queensland and worked for Ferrier Baudet Architects on a projects ranging from residential renovations, to childcare, aged care centers and educational buildings. She now works for Wilson Architects as a residential architect. Julie's approach to design centers on composition, contrast and the desire to prompt the powerful moments that happen during human interaction.
