Vivian Hogg is a recipient of the EPIC initiative of the Australia Council for the Arts which will support her to realise the Big Square Eye multimedia artwork for Brisbane Festival 2008. Big Square Eye crosses specificity with simultaneity and generation with geography to present collaboratively developed young video works in 16 Retravision outlets across Queensland, as well as in a gallery installation and online.
Vivian’s past projects include exhibiting performance/media work aboard ‘The Last Vestige’ floating gallery on the Mekong, supported by the Saigon ‘a little blah blah’ artist run initiative; curating a transparent twilight exhibition ontop of the Goodwill Bridge as well as exhibiting ‘Nicotine Kylie’ – a performance/media work within a Karaoke bar as part of the Multimedia Art Asia Pacific festival’s Manhua Wonderlands programme.
Vivian’s practice involves producing, curating, creating and critiquing visual art with interests including media arts, extra-gallery spaces, community practice, camp aesthetic, performance and textiles. Vivian has also reported on the arts for Triple J, Radio National, J Mag, 4ZzZfm and Rave Mag.
