CHRISTINA WATERSON
Artist and Designer

Christina Waterson is an accomplished artist and designer. Her background in visual arts, architecture and engineering underpin her unique visions and creations. Born and raised in rural Queensland, she attended the University of Queensland where she attained a Bachelor of Architecture.

Waterson’s experience includes an impressive array of artistic, design and architectural roles for a number of firms and organizations. Her skills at visualising and creating meaningful environments were honed while working with Urban Art Projects, The Queensland Art Gallery and Cox Rayner Architects.

Her works are personal and inspirational. They are meticulously made from discarded materials found objects, and industrial products. Via her process of transformation they become intimate objects and surfaces, installations and animations.

In early 2007 Waterson visited Tasmania as Queensland’s representative at the Design Island Conference and Bay of Fires Workshop. She is the 2007 University of Queensland AE Brooks Scholar who will travel internationally to research the exhibition of architecture.

Waterson’s innovative and versatile approach to making art, products, exhibitions and architecture distinguish her as a future luminary.
