PRUE GRAYSON
costume design : stripwear

It started for me as a child, always dancing or doing speech and drama eisteddfods or just being one of those annoying little stage children. My mother was a dressmaker and is now a creative embroidery teacher by trade, so I was taught very quickly how to use a sewing machine, even if it was for fear that I would injure myself whilst playing unsupervised.

After an entire school life of art and drama, I went on to do photography at QCA. This is where I learned that just because you enjoy something, doesn’t necessarily mean you’re good at it.

Working in a few of Australia’s most notorious gentlemen’s clubs, it came to my attention that there was a demand for good quality exotic dancing costumes, and so it started. Otherwise Naked now sends custom made costumes all over Australia and the world.

I am currently in second year at MSIT doing an Advanced Diploma in Fashion Design and Production whilst working out of my parents’ rumpus room making costumes for strippers, drag queens, Freddy Mercury impersonators, formal dresses, swimwear, you name it.

Next, I really want to have a go at one of those giant foam sporting mascot costumes, just because they look like fun.
